# Hexnode went from one product to three in under six months: XDR, then an IdP

*What Hexnode sells as of September 2026 against our June 2024 profile: a Windows-only XDR, a device-aware IdP, and a UEM from US$2.20 a device a month.*

The short version

- Hexnode sold one product, its UEM, from 2013 until September 2025. It then launched an XDR and, under six months later, an identity provider.[2] [4]
- Buy the UEM on its record. Treat the XDR, Windows-only at launch, and the IdP, with its adaptive features still announced, as pilots.
- Hexnode has no India data centre in our guide (US, EU and UAE), which matters more for an identity provider’s login logs than for device policy.[5]

Our June 2024 piece called Hexnode a “pioneering force” and listed a UEM plus four add-ons: Kiosk Lockdown, Secure Browser, Digital Signage and Hexnode Do. It never said what any of it cost or where the data sat. The question a mid-market Indian IT team asks is narrower: if we standardise on Hexnode for devices, should we also take its security and identity products?

## Two launches in under six months

Hexnode is the enterprise software division of Mitsogo, founded in 2013 by Apu Pavithran, with engineering in Kochi and Chennai.[1] At HexCon25, which opened on 17 September 2025, it announced Hexnode XDR, its first endpoint security product, and previewed a digital employee experience product, DEX, that had not shipped.[3] At launch the XDR covered Windows only, with macOS and mobile “underway”.[2] In March 2026 came Hexnode IdP: SSO, MFA and provisioning, with logins refused to devices that are unenrolled or out of compliance in the UEM.[4]

3. 03September 2025: XDRThreat detection and response through the UEM agent. Windows only at launch.
4. 04March 2026: IdPSSO and MFA gated by device posture. Adaptive access and just-in-time provisioning announced, not shipped.

## What to buy, and what to pilot

The UEM is the part with a track record and a printed price: Pro at US$2.20 a device a month, Enterprise at US$3.20 and Ultimate at US$4.70, with a 15-device minimum. Kiosk depth sits in the higher tiers.[5] We compared those tiers with four rivals in an earlier piece and will not redraw it here.[6] Neither the XDR nor the IdP has a published price; both are quoted per device or per user on top of the UEM.[1]

Our view

Our view: the bundle argument is real, because a device-trust signal from your own UEM is exactly what an identity provider should check. But a Windows-only XDR is not yet an XDR for a mixed fleet, and an IdP sold on announced features should be bought on today’s scope. Get the roadmap dates in the contract or price the pilot as a pilot.

TechBag countTechBag count

Of the 12 UEM and MDM products in our guide on 30 September 2026, nine lock a device into kiosk or dedicated mode; the three that do not are Jamf’s Apple-only products. Kiosk depth is no longer what sets Hexnode apart; platform breadth and the new identity layer are.

## If you are buying it in India

Hexnode lists in US dollars; TechBag invoices in INR with 18% GST. Our guide records no India data centre, only US, EU and UAE hosting.[5] For device policy that is a procurement question. For an identity provider it is a compliance one: CERT-In’s Directions of 28 April 2022 require logs of ICT systems to be kept for 180 days within Indian jurisdiction, and login logs are such logs.[7] The DPDP Rules, notified on 13 November 2025, bring security-safeguard and breach-intimation duties into force on 13 May 2027, and a directory of employees is personal data.[8] Ask Hexnode, in writing, where IdP logs are stored and how you export them before you move SSO.

How we did this

Figures as of 30 September 2026

Launch dates and scope come from Hexnode’s HexCon25 release and two trade reports, all dated. Prices, the tier minimum, hosting regions and the kiosk count are TechBag’s UEM & MDM guide as it stood on 30 September 2026 (prices read from vendor pages on 22 August 2026). The status of Hexnode Do, the fourth 2024 add-on, could not be verified and is left out. No Hexnode customer count is given because we found none we could source.
