# One platform or three? All-in-one RMM is 1.5–4.8× cheaper on list; the catch is depth

*Published list prices for Atera, SuperOps, NinjaOne, HaloPSA and Splashtop, worked at 500, 1,000 and 2,000 endpoints for an Indian MSP or IT team, in USD and INR, September 2026.*

Analysis · Endpoints & devices · By TechBag · Published 2026-08-18 · Facts checked 2026-09-30 · Canonical: https://www.thetechbag.com/blog/rmm-psa-remote-access-one-platform-or-three

The short version

- On list prices, one platform beats three at every size we worked. Atera at $149 per technician comes to $447 to $1,490 a month for 500 to 2,000 endpoints; a NinjaOne, HaloPSA and Splashtop stack comes to $1,834 to $7,023.[1][6]
- The saving is the pricing model, not the integration. Per-technician licensing (Atera, Syncro) and a service desk bundled into the RMM (SuperOps) are what delete the lines. The alert-to-invoice flow is real, but it saves technician hours, not licence rupees.
- The all-in-ones are thinner in each module, by their own admission, and everything in one tenant is one vendor’s export problem. Above roughly 25 technicians the arithmetic and the depth both start to point the other way.[13]

An MSP with 800 endpoints across thirty clients, or an in-house team at a 1,500-person company, buys three things: monitoring and patching (RMM), a ticket, time and billing system (PSA or service desk), and a way to get onto the machine (remote access). The question is whether to buy them from one vendor as one platform or to assemble the best of each. The first version of this piece, written in March 2025, answered “one platform” and repeated a vendor’s “up to 30 per cent” saving that we have since been unable to source. This rewrite does the arithmetic with published prices, and arrives at a more qualified answer.

## Published prices: three vendors landed on $129, and most of the market is a quote

Atera charges per technician with unlimited devices. Its MSP plans are Pro $129, Growth $159 and Power $209 a month; its IT Department plans are Professional $149, Expert $189 and Master $219, all on annual billing in USD, read from its pricing table on 30 September 2026.[1] Syncro, the direct per-technician rival, lists Core at $129 and Team at $179 per user a month on annual billing ($159 and $209 monthly), with RMM and PSA in both.[2] SuperOps, the Chennai-engineered platform, publishes two price books: MSPs pay per technician, PSA-only $79, Standard RMM $99, Pro (PSA plus RMM) $129 and Super $159, each RMM licence carrying 150 endpoints; internal IT teams pay per endpoint, $1.50 a month at the 100-endpoint minimum, sliding to $1.20 above 1,000, with the service desk included.[3]

That is where the published numbers stop. NinjaOne publishes a band, $3.75 per device a month at 50 or fewer endpoints down to $1.50 at 10,000, and quotes the exact rate.[4] ConnectWise publishes a price for ScreenConnect only, $30, $45 or $55 per concurrent technician a month billed yearly; its RMM, Automate and PSA are quoted.[5] Kaseya quotes Datto RMM, VSA and Autotask; the one published Kaseya figure is Kaseya 365 Ops at $129 per user a month, which includes Autotask Ultimate, and the $5.25 and $2.25 per-endpoint figures circulating for Kaseya 365 Endpoint are third-party reports, not Kaseya’s own.[10][6]

TechBag countTechBag count

Of the 20 RMM and patch products on TechBag’s RMM guide, 7 publish a price a buyer can read (a figure, a band or a stated ceiling) and 13 are a quote. Of the 19 tools on the remote-access guide, 14 publish a list price. The RMM market hides its prices; the remote-access market does not. Counted from the guides’ product records, verified against vendor documents on 22 August 2026.[6][7]

## Worked: the all-in-one wins on licence at every size, by 1.5× to 4.8×

The assumptions, because the result depends on them. One technician per 200 endpoints, so 3, 5 and 10 technicians at 500, 1,000 and 2,000 endpoints; that is a lean Indian MSP or IT team, and a fatter team moves every per-technician line up. Annual billing, USD list, licence only: no onboarding fees, no add-ons, no support subscriptions. INR at ₹83 to the dollar for scale, the conversion TechBag’s guides use, before 18 per cent GST.[6]

The all-in-one lines. Atera Professional is $149 times technicians: $447, $745 and $1,490 a month, about ₹37,100, ₹61,800 and ₹1,23,700.[1] SuperOps Prime is per endpoint at the published slide: $1.40 at 500, $1.30 at 1,000 and $1.20 at 2,000, so $700, $1,300 and $2,400, about ₹58,100, ₹1,07,900 and ₹1,99,200.[3]

The three-tool stack. NinjaOne is the natural best-of-breed RMM, a 2026 Magic Quadrant Leader with the deepest third-party patch catalogue in the category, and we price it at the $3 per device the TechBag guide uses as its illustrative midpoint: $1,500, $3,000 and $6,000.[4][6] HaloPSA, the PSA an MSP outgrowing a bundled desk most often moves to, showed £69 per agent a month on annual billing for ten UK agents in TechBag’s mid-2026 comparison, about $89, so $267, $445 and $890 for 3, 5 and 10 agents.[8] Splashtop Remote Support is $399 a year per concurrent technician with 300 managed computers per licence, stacking to 1,200, so two licences at 500 endpoints ($66.50 a month), four at 1,000 ($133), and four again at 2,000 as a floor, because above 1,200 computers Splashtop Enterprise is quoted.[9] Stack totals: $1,834, $3,578 and $7,023 a month, about ₹1,52,200, ₹2,97,000 and ₹5,82,900.

**Figure: At 1,000 endpoints the three-tool stack costs 4.8× Atera and 2.8× SuperOps Prime on list price, and the gap does not close at 2,000**

Source: Atera, SuperOps, NinjaOne, HaloPSA and Splashtop list prices; NinjaOne at the guide's $3 illustrative midpoint; TechBag arithmetic · as of 30 September 2026 · Atera Professional is priced per technician, SuperOps Prime per endpoint. The stack's remote line at 2,000 is a floor: Splashtop's published licences stop at 1,200 computers and Enterprise is quoted

Two stress tests, because the midpoint is ours. Put NinjaOne at the bottom of its published band, $1.50, and the stack falls to $1,084, $2,078 and $4,023: still 2.4× to 2.8× Atera and 1.5× to 1.7× SuperOps Prime. That is where the headline’s 1.5× to 4.8× comes from.[4] And swap SuperOps Prime for its MSP plan, Pro at $129 per technician: the 150-endpoint cap on each licence means 4, 7 and 14 licences, not 3, 5 and 10 technicians, so $516, $903 and $1,806. “Per technician” at SuperOps is really per 150 endpoints, and it is still below the stack at every size.[3]

Our view

Our view: the ratio that decides this purchase is endpoints per technician, not endpoints. Atera’s own pricing page concedes that below a break-even ratio per-device tools win; at the 200-to-1 we assumed, nothing per-device gets close. Run the arithmetic on your real headcount before reading anything else in this piece.[1]

## What one platform actually joins, and why that is not where the saving comes from

The original piece sold the single platform on workflow: an alert that becomes a ticket, a ticket that opens a remote session, a session that becomes a time entry, a time entry that becomes a line on an invoice, with no connector in between. That mechanism is real. In Atera and SuperOps the device record is shared by the monitor and the desk, so the ticket an alert raises is already tied to the device and the client, the remote session launches from inside the ticket, and the time lands on the contract the client is billed under.[3][1]

**Figure: The single platform removes two hand-offs: alert to ticket and session to time entry; three tools need a connector at each**

*The four states of one incident in an RMM, PSA and remote-access workflow*

1. 01AlertThe agent on the endpoint reports a failed patch, a full disk or a stopped service. One platform: the alert carries the device and client record. Three tools: the RMM holds it.
2. 02TicketA rule turns the alert into a ticket under the right contract and SLA. Three tools: the RMM-to-PSA connector maps device to client; somebody maintains the mapping.
3. 03Remote sessionThe technician reaches the machine from the ticket. Three tools: the remote tool is launched from the RMM (NinjaOne bundles Splashtop) and the session is logged there, not on the ticket.
4. 04Time entry and invoiceTime on the ticket becomes a line on the monthly invoice. Three tools: the PSA bills, but session time has to be keyed or synced in.

But look again at Figure 2. Take the NinjaOne line out of the stack at 1,000 endpoints and the two remaining tools, HaloPSA and Splashtop, cost $578 a month, already three-quarters of Atera’s entire $745 bill. The gap is made by two commercial decisions, charging per technician rather than per device and bundling the desk, and the connectors are a rounding error on it. NinjaOne-to-HaloPSA is a supported integration on both sides; the hand-offs in the figure cost hours of a technician’s month, not lines on the licence invoice.[6]

ReportedWhat the vendors say about their own desks

SuperOps describes its PSA as “lighter than ConnectWise Manage, Autotask PSA or HaloPSA” and puts its sweet spot at one to twenty-five technicians. Atera’s own hub notes its PSA is “lighter than deep MSP suites (ConnectWise Manage/Autotask)”. Both are recorded on TechBag’s intel pages from the vendors’ materials.[13][1]

## Where one platform is thinner: each module, and the exit

The price you pay for the price is depth. On the desk, both all-in-ones say so themselves: project management is minimal at SuperOps, procurement largely absent, and reporting stops short of per-contract profitability, which is exactly what a 30-client MSP needs when it renegotiates.[13] On patching, Atera’s third-party updates ride on WinGet, Chocolatey, Homebrew and APT rather than a curated catalogue, and SuperOps’s catalogue is thinner than NinjaOne’s, the broadest in the category; the TechBag guide’s advice is to build the list of your twenty most-used applications and check every one in the trial, because a miss means manual patching forever.[6] On remote access, the embedded tool (Atera builds in Splashtop and AnyDesk) is fine for a fix; what it does not give you is the central, tamper-evident session recording and per-session approval that a regulated client’s auditor asks for, which is what TeamViewer Tensor and BeyondTrust sell, on quote.[7]

Then the exit. One tenant holds the device inventory, every ticket, every time entry, every contract and every invoice. Export is by API, and the data moves; what does not move is years of boards, workflows and agreement setup, a warning TechBag’s PSA comparisons attach to every PSA, including HaloPSA and Autotask.[10] Per-technician pricing has its own lock: at Atera every login is a paid seat with no read-only tier, so the account manager who “just needs to look” is a $149 line, and legacy accounts were moved onto current list prices in 2026.[6][1] With three tools, the PSA, the system of record for money, can outlive two changes of RMM. With one, changing the RMM is changing the ledger.

**Figure: One platform is cheaper and shallower; three tools are deeper and yours to integrate**

*What each model gives up, for an MSP or IT team of 500 to 2,000 endpoints, September 2026*

One platform: what you give up

- PSA depth: minimal projects, little procurement, no per-contract profitability (SuperOps and Atera say so)
- Patch catalogue: package managers or a thinner list, against NinjaOne's
- Audit-grade remote sessions: no central recording or per-session approval
- Exit: inventory, tickets, time, contracts and invoices in one vendor's tenant
- Every login is a seat: no read-only tier on per-technician plans

Three tools: what the extra money buys

- A PSA you can keep through two RMM changes: HaloPSA, Autotask, ConnectWise PSA
- The deepest patch catalogue and Linux coverage in the category (NinjaOne)
- A remote tool chosen for the regulator: Tensor, BeyondTrust, or Zoho Assist with Indian data centres
- Bargaining power at renewal, because each vendor can be replaced alone
- Residency options: self-host the RMM or the remote tool in India

So the honest answer is a threshold, not a side. Below roughly 25 technicians, which is almost every Indian MSP and most in-house teams under 2,000 endpoints, the all-in-one wins on price by a margin no integration story is needed to justify, and its thinness is a nuisance rather than a blocker. Above it, or the day a client’s auditor asks for the session recording, or the day you need per-contract margin to renegotiate, the desk and the remote tool are worth buying on their own, and the RMM becomes the thing you shop for.[13]

If you are buying this in India

Every all-in-one here bills in USD with no rupee list: Atera, Syncro, SuperOps and NinjaOne alike.[1][2][3][4] At the ₹83 conversion, Atera Professional for five technicians is about ₹61,800 a month, ₹72,900 with 18 per cent GST; the three-tool stack at the same size is about ₹2,97,000, ₹3,50,400 with GST. A USD card payment to a foreign vendor is a remittance with its own paperwork; an Indian reseller invoice in INR with GST is the simpler route, and TechBag issues one for each vendor named here. HaloPSA’s calculator offers an India (₹) region, and Zoho Assist publishes an INR price list, the only remote tool on the guide that does.[8][7]

Residency is where “India-built” stops meaning anything. SuperOps is engineered in Chennai but hosts in the United States or Europe, chosen at sign-up, with no India region and no self-hosted option.[13] Atera documents no hosting region; Datto RMM runs in Ireland, the US and Sydney; Autotask sits in Pennsylvania, Sydney, Slough or near Munich; ConnectWise’s cloud is NA, EU or AU.[10] The tools that can keep data in India are the self-hosted ones, ConnectWise Automate, ScreenConnect On-Premise, Kaseya VSA on your own server and AnyDesk’s on-premises edition, plus Zoho Assist’s Mumbai and Chennai data centres and BeyondTrust’s Asia (India – West) region.[7] That favours a stack, not a platform, for a regulated client.

Two obligations bite. CERT-In’s Directions of 28 April 2022 require 180 days of logs; CERT-In’s own FAQ permits them to be held outside India if they can be produced on request, and IRDAI’s 2023 audit framework asks insurers’ vendors a plain yes or no on whether ICT logs are stored in India.[11][13] And a ticket queue is personal data under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, whose Rules were notified on 13 November 2025: one platform means one sub-processor list to get in writing before you sign; three tools mean three.[12]

How we did this

Figures as of 30 September 2026

Prices are vendor list prices on annual billing in USD, read from the vendor’s own pricing page (Atera on 30 September 2026; Syncro and Halo in September 2026) or from the TechBag estate’s dated record of it (SuperOps, NinjaOne, ScreenConnect, Splashtop, mid-2026; the RMM and remote-access guides’ product records, verified against vendor documents on 22 August 2026). The published-price counts are TechBag counts of those product records: a band or a stated ceiling counts as published; “per endpoint, figure drawn in the browser” does not. NinjaOne is priced at the guide’s $3 illustrative midpoint with the band’s $1.50 floor shown as a stress test; HaloPSA’s £69 is converted at about $1.29. Excluded: onboarding and implementation (mandatory and bespoke at Halo), add-ons (Atera Network Discovery at $29 per technician; NinjaOne MDM, backup and endpoint security; Splashtop AEM), support subscriptions, and the Kaseya 365 Endpoint per-endpoint figures, which are third-party reports. INR is a conversion at ₹83 for scale, not a quote. The March 2025 original’s “up to 30 per cent” saving and its market-size statistic are dropped: we could not source either.
