Senior officials still discuss sensitive matters on ordinary phones. Encrypting the words isn’t enough if the calling pattern leaks — BlackBerry SecuSUITE encrypts voice, messages and files end to end and hides who talks to whom, on servers and keys you control — with desk phones and landlines brought in through your PBX.

This page covers BlackBerry SecuSUITE — certified secure voice, messaging and file sharing for government. The rest:
Most product pages skip this. We start here — so you buy a capability, not a buzzword.
Voice, text and files encrypted end to end, on software a government security body has formally approved.
What consolidation actually replaces, dimension by dimension.
| Dimension | Consumer messengers and open phone lines | BlackBerry SecuSUITE |
|---|---|---|
| What an eavesdropper sees | Content, or at least who called whom | Neither the words nor the calling pattern |
| Who holds the keys | The app provider’s cloud | Your servers, sovereign cloud or hybrid |
| Desk and conference phones | Outside any encryption | Joined through the PBX integration |
| Sharing a sensitive file | Personal email, USB or a courier | End-to-end encrypted inside the app |
| Proof for the security office | A vendor’s word | CSfC, NATO Restricted, NIAP and EAL4+ |
| What it is NOT | — | A priced, self-serve business chat tool |
The cheapest first step is a written requirement: users, approvals needed, hosting choice and PBX — before any briefing is booked.
Vendors love diagrams; buyers need to know what they’re actually operating. Here’s the whole platform, demystified.
SecuSUITE runs on iOS and Android smartphones and tablets and on desktop, so a minister’s phone and an aide’s workstation sit inside the same encrypted circle.
The servers can sit on-premises, in a sovereign cloud or in a hybrid of the two; BlackBerry’s pitch is that encryption keys and infrastructure stay fully under your authority.
A link to your PBX lets desk and conference phones take part and gives a secure breakout to landlines, so a protected call is not limited to people carrying the app.
Besides ordinary iOS and Android devices, SecuSUITE works with Secusmart hardened devices; confirm which models are current, and their lead time, during the briefing.
Apps on phones, tablets and desktop talk through servers you control — with a PBX link out to desk phones and landlines.
BlackBerry SecuSUITE gives officials certified encrypted calls, texts and files, and keeps the calling pattern hidden too.
Voice calls between SecuSUITE users are encrypted from one device to the other, on iOS and Android phones and on tablets.
Through PBX integration a protected call can leave the app and reach a landline, which BlackBerry calls secure breakout.
The same PBX link brings office desk phones and conference-room phones into SecuSUITE, not only the people on mobiles.
Messages travel end-to-end encrypted, so the server relaying them, whoever runs it, does not hold readable conversation text.
Files move between users under the same end-to-end encryption as calls and messages, instead of by personal email or USB.
Most users run it on standard phones and tablets; Secusmart hardened devices are the option where the handset is itself a target.
SecuSUITE also protects call metadata — timing, frequency and participant relationships — which content encryption alone leaves exposed.
On-premises, sovereign-cloud or hybrid deployment leaves the encryption keys and the infrastructure under the customer’s authority.

The product page lists NSA CSfC, Canada Secret, NATO Restricted, NIAP and Common Criteria EAL4+. BlackBerry dates its NIAP compliant-product listing to 2017, and Germany’s BSI has approved it for classified voice inside the German government.
An adversary who cannot read a call can still learn a lot from when it happened, how often two people speak and who sits in the group. BlackBerry says SecuSUITE protects that metadata — timing, frequency and participant relationships — alongside the voice, text and files themselves.
SecuSUITE can be installed on-premises, in a sovereign cloud or as a hybrid, with keys and infrastructure under the customer’s control. A PBX integration brings desk and conference phones in and breaks out securely to landlines, so a ministry is not limited to people who carry the app.
There is no price list and no trial; the only door is a briefing. It is built for heads of state, ministers, diplomats, defence and intelligence, not for a company chat tool. No Indian SecuSUITE customer is verified, and the Tata Power SED memorandum of about 2015 was to evaluate it, not to deploy it.
List the officials who need protected calls, the classification they handle and whether call patterns must stay hidden.
Request the briefing, bring your certification requirements, and ask which approvals apply to your deployment model.
Pick on-premises, sovereign cloud or hybrid, decide who holds the keys, and map the PBX link for desk phones.
Equip a small group on phones, tablets and desktop, test landline breakout, and record call quality on poor networks.
Extend to the full list, decide where hardened handsets are needed, and write the policy on what goes over SecuSUITE.

“Our security office would not sign off a consumer messenger. The certification list ended that debate in one meeting.”
“The PBX breakout matters more than we expected: half our senior staff still take sensitive calls on desk phones.”
“Hiding who calls whom was the requirement our auditors raised first; encrypted content alone did not satisfy them.”
“Strong product, slow buying cycle. Expect briefings and paperwork before you see a number, and plan the budget late.”

Drag the sliders (officials who need protected calls; staff-hour cost). Estimates model time lost to workarounds for sensitive conversations — in-person meetings, couriered papers and call-backs on fixed secure lines — at an assumed 1.5 hours per official a year, with 70% of it removed by certified mobile voice, text and file sharing. Both figures are assumptions. Illustrative.
