The company, at a glance
Quick answer
Datto, product by product — every linked card is a full intel page, from disaster recovery and RMM to the MSP’s service desk and EDR. Datto is a Kaseya company: see the Kaseya hub for Unitrends, Spanning, VSA and the rest.
Server backup that can boot in the Datto Cloud.
A hardened appliance or virtual SIRIS backs up Windows and Linux servers, then runs them locally or in the Datto Cloud on demand.
Azure VM backups held outside your own tenant.
Copies Azure VMs and Azure Files to a Datto-owned tenant, replicates them hourly to the Datto Cloud, and restarts them in either.
Direct-to-cloud images of PCs, servers and Macs.
Image backups of Windows PCs, Windows servers and Macs with no box on site; a Disaster Recovery SKU adds hourly runs and cloud boot.
Cloud-to-cloud copies of mail, files and Teams.
Backs up Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace mail, files, calendars and Teams, with infinite cloud retention on current subscriptions.
Monitor, patch and fix client devices remotely.
A cloud-only RMM on AWS, run on five regional platforms, with device monitoring, third-party patching, scripts and browser access.
Tickets, contracts and billing in one cloud PSA.
Service desk, projects, contracts, time and invoicing for MSPs in one cloud app, with Cooper Copilot AI and more than 170 integrations.
EDR with ransomware rollback, from the RMM.
Detects and responds to threats on Windows, macOS and Linux, rolls back ransomware, and deploys in one click from Datto RMM or VSA.
Unitrends backup and DRaaS, Spanning, VSA, INKY and vPenTest are Kaseya brands too; TechBag covers them on the Kaseya hub
Kaseya’s round-the-clock managed SOC, rebuilt from RocketCyber in April 2026; its intel page is on the Kaseya hub — there is no “Datto MDR”
Cloud-managed Wi-Fi, switches, Managed Power and Secure Edge, sold by quote; Datto Firewalls are still an open beta
Workplace is file sync and share; File Protection backs up files and folders with 180 days of versions. Both licensed per user, by quote
Datto sells across 4 of the products TechBag carries in backup & cyber resilience. The Backup & Cyber Resilience guide shows how the category splits and which part is yours. →
Also sold in Endpoint Management (2 products) · Security (1 product).
Datto sells only through managed service providers — so the price, the contract and the support all come from your MSP, not from Datto. Choose the MSP as carefully as the product, check where the Datto Cloud keeps your data, and Datto is a strong recovery stack.
Datto’s own cloud, not a public one: nine data centres in seven countries hold offsite copies and run virtualised servers in a disaster.
Hardened Linux boxes, or a virtual SIRIS, that keep backups on site and can boot a failed server locally. ALTO covers up to four agents.
Announced in April 2026 to show on-premises, SaaS, endpoint and cloud backups in one view instead of a separate portal for each.
Kaseya’s AI brand since April 2026, drawing on the backup and endpoint data it manages; opened to outside assistants such as Copilot in June.
Start with the job — recovering servers, backing up laptops or SaaS, or running the MSP — then ask your MSP for the quote.

Two company-level views you won’t find on any vendor site — tap any dot for the rationale. The category-level grid lives on the product page.
Each dot is a Datto solution area: competitive position vs category momentum.
SIRIS boots failed servers on the appliance or in the Datto Cloud, with DR tests at no extra charge.
How many MSP jobs each vendor covers across backup, recovery and operations vs how much of its pricing it publishes.
Appliance, endpoint, Azure and SaaS backup, RMM, PSA, EDR, a SOC and networking; no Datto price is published, only Kaseya 365 Ops at $129.

Answer three questions; we’ll point you at the right starting product. No email required — this isn’t that kind of quiz.
1. What do you need to protect?
2. Is the job running IT rather than backing it up?
3. Datto sells through MSPs. Which describes you?
Datto says it works only with MSP partners and lists no prices. Your MSP quotes it, installs it and usually runs it for you.

Datto sells only through MSP partners and has no public prices. The MSP quotes the kit, sets it up and usually manages it.
On-site servers to SIRIS, laptops to Endpoint Backup, Azure VMs to Backup for Azure, and Microsoft 365 or Google to SaaS Protection.
BCDR plans keep one or seven years of backups, or everything for as long as the subscription runs. The tier sets the monthly fee.
The appliance goes back within 30 days of cancelling. Plain Endpoint Backup keeps nothing after the plan ends, so export first.
Datto has no Indian data centre. BCDR copies go to Singapore at the nearest, and SaaS Protection data never leaves its six countries.
Datto quotes in US dollars. TechBag scopes the products, arranges the MSP route and gives you the figure in INR with GST.
| Product | Licensing model | How you enter | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Datto SIRIS / ALTO | Per appliance a month · by capacity and retention tier, hardware included | Quote through an MSP | Servers on site |
| Datto Backup for Microsoft Azure | Flat fee · egress, DR and DR testing included | Quote through an MSP | Azure VMs and Azure Files |
| Datto Endpoint Backup | Per licence · pooled cloud storage allowance | Quote through an MSP | PCs and a few servers |
| Datto SaaS Protection | Per licence · committed minimum plus usage since Dec 2025 | Quote through an MSP | Microsoft 365 and Google |
| Datto RMM | Per endpoint · committed minimum plus usage since Dec 2025 | Quote through an MSP | MSPs running many clients |
| Kaseya 365 Ops (a bundle) | Per user · Autotask Ultimate, IT Glue and more; three users, one year | $129 a user a month (published) | MSP back office |
| Kaseya 365 Endpoint (a bundle) | Per endpoint · RMM, AV, EDR, patching, endpoint backup; Pro adds the SOC | Reported: $5.25 Pro, $2.25 Express an endpoint a month | Endpoint security and backup together |
| Kaseya 365 User (a bundle) | Per user · SaaS backup with 60 GB each, phishing defence, training | Reported: $3.75 a user a month | Protecting users, not devices |
Datto publishes no standalone prices — only Kaseya 365 Ops at $129 per user a month. TechBag gets your MSP’s quote and shows it in INR with GST.
SIRIS hardware comes with the subscription and goes back to Datto within 30 days of cancelling. Budget it as a monthly cost.
Only the Disaster Recovery SKU can boot a machine in the Datto Cloud, and you cannot switch to it once a disaster has started.
Cloud virtualisation is for emergencies and DR tests. Datto may shut down a virtual machine that stays up after the crisis ends.
There is no such edition. Endpoint and User carry some backup, but SIRIS and ALTO sit outside every Kaseya 365 bundle.
No Datto product stores data in India. SaaS Protection has no Asian region at all, so check each product before you sign.

*TechBag’s illustrative estimate, not a quoted analyst figure. The takeaway: disaster recovery is moving from owned appliances to subscriptions — which is why Datto now includes SIRIS hardware in the subscription.
Since November 2024 SIRIS hardware has been included in the subscription, and month-to-month terms arrived that April.
What it means for you
Ask every BCDR vendor who owns the box and what happens to it when you leave.
Datto added AI-powered screenshot verification to SIRIS and ALTO in March 2026.
What it means for you
Ask how a vendor proves a backup boots, not just that the job finished.
Kaseya announced a single portal for on-site, SaaS, endpoint and cloud backups in April 2026.
What it means for you
Count the consoles your team opens during a restore; fewer means faster recovery.
From December 2025, Datto RMM, SaaS Protection and Autotask moved to a committed minimum plus usage.
What it means for you
Model a quiet month and a busy one before agreeing a committed minimum.
