Your cloud consoles, CMDB and IPAM each list different assets. Your asset count shouldn’t depend on which one you open — Infoblox Universal Asset Insights merges assets from AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, on-prem networks and 40+ tools into one list, reads each against DNS, DHCP and IPAM records, and syncs it both ways with the ServiceNow CMDB.

This page covers Infoblox Universal Asset Insights — asset discovery and inventory, licensed from the Universal DDI token pool. The rest:
Most product pages skip this. We start here — so you buy a capability, not a buzzword.
An asset inventory built from clouds and tools, then checked against the IP, DNS and DHCP records the network already keeps.
What consolidation actually replaces, dimension by dimension.
| Dimension | Spreadsheets and cloud consoles | Infoblox Universal Asset Insights |
|---|---|---|
| Where the asset list lives | A spreadsheet, three cloud consoles and the CMDB | One de-duplicated inventory in the Infoblox Portal |
| Finding cloud leftovers | Someone queries the monthly bill | Zombie checks for detached volumes and unattached IPs |
| Who owns an IP address | Ping it and ask around | The asset matched to its IPAM, DNS and DHCP records |
| Keeping the CMDB true | Quarterly reconciliation by hand | A ServiceNow Graph Connector syncing both ways |
| Counting for the licence | Each tool counts the same laptop | Merged records, with only IP-bearing assets counted |
| What it is NOT | — | A vulnerability scanner, a patch tool or an India-hosted service |
The cheapest test is one cloud account and one tool feed: connect them, compare the merged total with your spreadsheet, and see what was missing.
Vendors love diagrams; buyers need to know what they’re actually operating. Here’s the whole platform, demystified.
Universal Asset Insights runs inside the Infoblox Portal next to Universal DDI; Infoblox’s status page lists its cloud and on-prem discovery in North America and Europe.
Connected AWS, Azure and Google Cloud accounts report VMs, gateways and IPs, plus objects with no IP such as security groups and S3 buckets, into one list.
Internal networks are found by a Discovery service on a NIOS-X server you deploy; Infoblox’s docs say that server cannot run any other service beside it.
More than 40 API integrations add endpoint, identity and security tools such as CrowdStrike, Intune and Okta, and a ServiceNow Graph Connector writes back to the CMDB.
A SaaS inventory in the Infoblox Portal — clouds, NIOS-X discovery and 40+ APIs in, ServiceNow synced out.
Universal Asset Insights builds one asset inventory from clouds, networks and tools, and checks it against the network’s own IP records.
AWS, Azure and Google Cloud resources land in a single inventory, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure joined the sources in 2026.
A dedicated Discovery service on a NIOS-X server finds devices on your internal networks and feeds them into the same inventory.
Integrations pull assets from CrowdStrike, Defender for Endpoint, Intune, Jamf Pro, Okta, Qualys, Juniper Mist and Nozomi Networks.
A laptop reported by three tools becomes one merged asset, and it is counted once when Management Tokens are tallied.
Each asset can be read against IPAM, DNS and DHCP records in the same suite; Infoblox says IP conflicts resolve in minutes.
Security groups, S3 buckets, subnets and projects are discovered and shown, yet they consume no Management Tokens.
It flags leftovers such as detached storage volumes and unattached IP addresses, which keep billing after a project ends.
A ServiceNow Graph Connector reconciles CMDB records with what is actually running, writing in both directions, not a one-way import.
Infoblox’s MCP Server, in early access until GA in fall 2026, lets AI agents query this inventory rather than a stale export.

Most discovery tools start from agents or scans. Universal Asset Insights sits in the same suite as Infoblox’s DNS, DHCP and IPAM management, so a discovered device can be read against the addresses really leased and resolved. Infoblox says most customers find 20–40% more assets than they knew existed.
AWS, Azure and Google Cloud accounts, a Discovery service on NIOS-X for internal networks, and 40+ API feeds from tools such as CrowdStrike, Intune and Okta arrive in one place. A device seen by several sources becomes one record and costs one token count.
The ServiceNow Graph Connector from the 2026 expansion reconciles CMDB records with discovered assets in both directions, so changes and incidents point at real machines. In a quote on Infoblox’s page, Omnicom Group says it found 130,000 assets within 30 minutes of connecting.
There is no price list and no separate SKU; it draws on Universal DDI Management Tokens. The status page shows discovery in North America and Europe only, with no Indian region. It is an inventory, not a vulnerability scanner or patch tool, and Infoblox names no Indian customer for it.
Estimate servers, VMs, endpoints and network gear with an IP, since only those use Management Tokens; list every cloud account.
Existing Universal DDI customers rebalance Management Tokens to switch it on; new buyers get packs of 1,000 quoted in INR.
Link the AWS, Azure and Google Cloud accounts plus one feed such as CrowdStrike or Intune, and compare the totals.
Deploy a NIOS-X server for the Discovery service, scan internal networks, and review detached volumes and unattached IPs.
Install the ServiceNow Graph Connector, agree which side owns each field, and let the two-way sync retire stale records.
Modelled on Gartner Peer Insights structure. *Counts and breakdowns are illustrative pending verified review collection.
“Connecting three AWS accounts and one Azure tenant turned up about a fifth more VMs than our spreadsheet, mostly test boxes nobody owned.”
“Seeing each asset beside its DHCP lease and DNS record ended our weekly argument over who owns an IP address.”
“Two-way ServiceNow sync was why we bought it. Retired servers now leave the CMDB instead of lingering there for years.”
“The zombie view found detached volumes and unattached IPs we were still paying for, which paid for the token rebalance.”
“On-prem discovery wants a NIOS-X server of its own, with nothing else on it. Have that VM ready before kick-off.”
“Our auditors asked where the inventory is stored. With no Indian region, we documented a cross-border transfer first.”
Analyst firms bury this view behind paywalls, and G2 retired its Grid. So here’s TechBag’s synthesis of the asset discovery market — tap any vendor to see why it sits where it does.
Execution strength vs product vision — the classic market map, minus the paywall.
Quoted from the Universal DDI token pool; no separate price.
The grid nobody publishes — how many clouds, networks and tools feed the inventory vs how much IP, DNS and DHCP context each asset carries.
Clouds, NIOS-X discovery and 40+ APIs, read against native IPAM, DNS and DHCP.

Drag the sliders (servers and cloud workloads; IT staff-hour cost). Estimates model the staff time spent reconciling spreadsheets, cloud consoles and the CMDB, chasing IP owners and cleaning up forgotten resources, at an assumed 1.5 hours per workload a year, with 70% of it removed by one de-duplicated, synced inventory. Both figures are assumptions. Illustrative.
Loaded cost = salary + overheads per productive hour. Illustrative only — your TechBag quote models your actual environment and modules.
Quote only. Infoblox publishes no price for Universal Asset Insights and sells no separate SKU: it is licensed from the Universal DDI Management Token pool, sold in packs of 1,000, where each asset with an IP address counts and assets without one (security groups, S3 buckets, subnets, projects) do not. A device reported by several sources is counted once. Universal DDI customers can try it by rebalancing Management Tokens they already hold. Infoblox shows no rupee price. TechBag counts your IP-bearing assets first, then quotes in INR with GST.

Do you already run Universal DDI or NIOS? The case is strongest where Infoblox holds your IPAM, DNS and DHCP.
How many assets carry an IP address? Those consume Management Tokens; security groups and buckets do not.
Which AWS, Azure, Google Cloud and OCI accounts must be connected, and who can grant access to each one?
Can you provide a NIOS-X server dedicated to the Discovery service, given nothing else may run on it?
Which of your tools — CrowdStrike, Defender, Intune, Jamf Pro, Okta, Qualys — are among the 40+ integrations?
Is ServiceNow your CMDB, and which fields should the Graph Connector be allowed to overwrite in each direction?
Can inventory data sit in North America or Europe under DPDP rules? There is no Indian region to choose.
