Atlassian's Rovo credit allowances, credit costs per action and its extra-usage default, from its own pages as of 3 November, set against its Rovo FAQ of 30 August.
From 3 December, Atlassian will bill organisations for Rovo AI use beyond the credits included in their plans, at a list price of US$0.01 a credit, and the setting that allows it is on unless an admin turns it off: “Extra usage is enabled by default, and admins can set spending limits.”1 On 30 August, Atlassian’s Rovo FAQ said admins could cap extra usage “should you choose to enable extra usage (disabled by default)”.2 A copy of the same page captured on 1 September, two hours after Atlassian announced usage-based pricing, reads “If extra usage is on (default setting)”.34

A quick answer in Rovo Chat, a basic Rovo agent and Rovo space creation cost 10 credits per billable event; in chat, “each user message is a billable event”. Think Deeper chat, Confluence slides, Agents in Jira, the Jira Coding Agent and agents with model selection use “variable credits”, with no fixed number published. Enriched Teamwork Graph calls, including those made by tools such as Claude or ChatGPT through the Rovo MCP server, are “1-10 Rovo credits per call” in the “vast majority” of cases. These rates apply from 31 August.1

Atlassian’s Chief Product and AI Officer, Tamar Yehoshua, announced on 1 September that allowance limits and billing for Rovo credits, automation steps and AI agent resolutions “will go into effect on December 3, 2026”. The post does not mention the default.4 Atlassian’s pricing page now says extra usage is “enabled by default and billed in arrears”, and that when a limit is reached only that meter pauses.5 A per-user allocation of credits is listed as “coming soon”.1
