5 of 10 idea-management tools print a price; a ten-seat pilot runs US$0 to US$390
What ten idea-management vendors’ pricing pages showed in September 2026: who publishes a figure, what a ten-seat pilot costs, and which seat you actually pay for.
The original version of this piece explained what idea-management software is and listed questions to ask a vendor. It never named a price. The question an Indian buyer actually asks is simpler: if 300 employees submit ideas and ten people sort them, what does that cost, and which of the two kinds of product under this label do we need? We read ten vendors’ pricing pages to answer it.
01Two markets share one name, and only one publishes a price
The first market is the product team’s idea portal: customers and colleagues post requests and vote, and a product manager scores them. Aha! Ideas, Jira Product Discovery, Productboard, Canny and Ideanote live here. The second is the enterprise innovation suite: campaigns, stage-gates and evaluator panels, sold to an innovation office. IdeaScale, Brightidea, Wazoku, Qmarkets and HYPE live there; HYPE absorbed Planbox in a merger announced on 27 February 2024.11
A ten-seat idea-management pilot costs nothing to US$390 a month, and the gap is the paid seat, not the feature list

The spread is about who the vendor counts. Aha! charges for every user and raises prices 3% a year by policy.1 Atlassian charges only for creators; colleagues who post and vote are free contributors.2 Canny counts tracked end-users and managers separately, so a 300-person company may land on its custom-priced Business plan.5 Productboard prices per maker and does not show the figure.6
02Which kind to buy
If the ideas come from customers or a product team, buy from the published half: Jira Product Discovery if Jira is already in the building, Ideanote if not and the group is under 50, Aha! only if its roadmap tool is coming anyway, since Aha! Roadmaps at US$59 a user includes Ideas Essentials.1 If the brief is a company-wide programme in which finance, HR and operations staff submit and a committee funds, the quote-only suites are what you are buying: Qmarkets tiers by named users and adds a setup fee, and Wazoku uses no pricing table.89 The lever you hold there is the named-user count.
03Buying it in India
None of the ten publishes a rupee price: expect a dollar card charge or a reseller invoice with 18% GST. At an indicative ₹83 to the dollar the ten-seat Aha! pilot is about ₹32,400 a month before GST and the Jira one about ₹8,700, TechBag arithmetic rather than quotes. A portal holding employees’ and customers’ names, votes and comments processes personal data under the DPDP Act; the Rules notified on 13 November 2025 bring the security-safeguards duty into force on 13 May 2027.12 Only Ideanote prices a data-residency option, as a paid add-on through sales.3 Ask where the ideas are stored before the pilot.
