Your rota lives in a spreadsheet and Monday’s queue still catches you short. Staffing should follow the forecast — Zendesk WFM, formerly Tymeshift, forecasts support volume with AI, builds schedules automatically and tracks agent activity in and out of Zendesk — an add-on to any Zendesk Suite or Support plan.

This page covers Zendesk WFM (formerly Tymeshift) — workforce management for Zendesk support teams. The rest:
Most product pages skip this. We start here — so you buy a capability, not a buzzword.
Workforce management forecasts the work coming in, schedules people to meet it and checks the plan held.
What consolidation actually replaces, dimension by dimension.
| Dimension | Spreadsheet rotas | Zendesk WFM |
|---|---|---|
| Building the rota | A spreadsheet rebuilt every week | A schedule generated from the forecast |
| Predicting volume | Last year’s numbers and a hunch | An AI forecast from your own history |
| Seeing where time went | Only minutes logged on tickets | Activity tracked in and out of Zendesk |
| Checking the plan held | Anecdotes at the Friday review | Adherence measured against the schedule |
| Staffing and quality | Two tools, two agent lists | WFM and QA sold as one bundle |
| What it is NOT | — | Hosted in India, billed in INR, or priced alone in public |
The cheapest test is one queue for one month: let WFM forecast and schedule it, track adherence, and set the result beside your spreadsheet rota.
Vendors love diagrams; buyers need to know what they’re actually operating. Here’s the whole platform, demystified.
WFM projects future support volume with AI from the history in your Zendesk account, and Forecast scenarios, in early access during 2026, let planners test alternatives.
Shifts are generated from the forecast automatically, so a planner reviews and edits a draft schedule instead of rebuilding the rota by hand in a spreadsheet every week.
Activity is captured while agents work in Zendesk and in the other tools they use, so the record shows the whole working day and not only the minutes spent on tickets.
Adherence sets tracked activity against the schedule, and analytics plus a performance-management view Zendesk showed in 2026 point to where the day drifted from plan.
Forecast, schedule, track, measure — one add-on on the Zendesk account your agents already work in, hosted on Google Cloud.
Zendesk WFM forecasts the work, schedules the agents and checks the plan held, inside the Zendesk your team already uses.
WFM forecasts incoming support volume with AI, giving planners a demand curve to staff against instead of last month’s guess.
Forecast scenarios, in early access during 2026, let a planner compare alternative demand assumptions before a schedule is fixed.
Auto-scheduling turns the forecast into shifts, so the planner’s job becomes adjusting a generated draft rather than drafting one.
Zendesk lists native WFM among the features of Zendesk Contact Center, its Amazon Connect-based voice product at US$83 per agent.
Agent activity is tracked inside Zendesk and in other tools too, so hours lost outside the ticket view still appear in the record.
Adherence compares tracked activity with the schedule, and analytics with a 2026 performance view show where a shift went off plan.

Zendesk WFM is an add-on to any Zendesk Suite or Support plan, so the forecast and the schedule are built on the same account the agents answer tickets in. NICE, by contrast, lists its WFM as an add-on on top of CXone suites that start at $110 per agent a month.
Ticket timers only show the minutes spent inside a ticket. Zendesk WFM tracks agent activity in Zendesk and in other tools, then measures it against the schedule as adherence, so a planner can see where the rest of a shift actually went before redrawing next week’s rota.
WFM and Zendesk QA are sold together as the Workforce Engagement Bundle at US$50 per agent a month on annual billing; QA alone lists at US$35. QA’s AutoQA scores every conversation, so the planner and the coach work from the same agents. Zendesk names Wyze Labs as a WFM customer.
No WFM-only list price. WFM runs on Google Cloud, which may not honour the region picked for tickets; none is in India, and billing is never in rupees. Forecast scenarios were still early access in 2026, and BPO vendor planning, which Assembled sells as an add-on, is not among the WFM features Zendesk lists.
Confirm your Zendesk plan, export a year of ticket and chat volume by channel, and mark the seasonal peaks a forecast must learn.
Have compliance sign off that WFM runs on Google Cloud outside India before any agent activity is tracked, and record the decision.
Generate a forecast and an automatic schedule for a single queue, then compare the draft with the rota your planner built by hand.
Switch on activity tracking, review adherence weekly, and tell agents plainly what is tracked, why, and who can see the results.
If QA is also wanted, price the US$50 bundle against WFM on its own, then extend forecasting and scheduling to every team.

“Auto-scheduling hands us a draft rota for sixty agents in minutes. We now spend Friday adjusting it, not building it.”
“Seeing time outside Zendesk was the surprise: agents were losing close to an hour a day inside an internal admin tool.”
“The forecast follows our weekday rhythm well, but festive-sale days still need a manual bump on top of what it predicts.”
“We took the bundle with QA, so our coaches and our planner finally look at one list of agents and one set of numbers.”
“Adherence reports made break planning fairer, because agents could see exactly the same figures their leads were seeing.”
“Compliance asked where tracking data lives. It is on Google Cloud outside India, and that review took longer than set-up.”

Drag the sliders (support agents scheduled; planner-hour cost). Estimates model planner and team-lead time spent building rotas, re-covering gaps and checking adherence by hand at an assumed 1.5 hours per agent a year, with 70% of it removed by forecast-led auto-scheduling and tracking. Both figures are assumptions. Illustrative.

Partly published: Zendesk sells WFM as an add-on to any Suite or Support plan and shows no WFM-only price. The Workforce Engagement Bundle — WFM plus Zendesk QA — is US$50 per agent a month on annual billing, and QA alone is US$35. Billing is in USD, EUR, GBP or BRL, not INR. TechBag compares WFM alone with the bundle, then quotes in INR with GST.

Which Suite or Support plan are your agents on today? WFM is an add-on to it, never a separate platform.
Do you have at least a year of ticket, chat and call volume by channel for the forecast to learn from?
Can WFM data sit on Google Cloud outside India, even if your ticket data is pinned to another region?
Have agents been told which activity is tracked in and out of Zendesk, and does your DPDP notice cover it?
Will you also buy Zendesk QA? The US$50 bundle may cost less than the two bought apart; get both quotes.
Do phone agents sit on Zendesk Contact Center, or on another phone system the schedule must also cover?
Are BPO partners part of the plan? Ask Zendesk how they are scheduled before you compare with Assembled.
Does the quote state the WFM price per agent, the term and the currency? Ask TechBag for INR with GST.
